Live Stream Operation

This part of the instructions assume that at this point the live stream is "LIVE" to facebook and the service has yet to begin

The monitor on your right should look nearly identical to this other than there might be different graphics in each box.

The two large boxes at the top are the "Preview" and "Program" views.  Preview shows what is up next.  In this case it is video from the "PTZ FOH" Camera.  Program shows what is currently being sent to the live stream, in this case, the "Still FOH" Camera.

The next row of four boxes shows us what material we have available to us for the livestream.

  1. The first box is for our PTZ Camera.  This camera can move and pickup nearly anything in the space.  Note that there is a green box around it which signifies that this is in Preview.

  2. The next box is our Still FOH Camera.  This is a static camera that is only pointing straight ahead.  This camera is used so we do not see the PTZ camera move live.  Note that there is a read box around it which signifies that it is in Program and is going out to the live stream (if the live stream has started).

  3. The next box is a live feed from the power point computer.  This allows us to selectively send material from the powerpoint to the live stream.  Note that this box doesn't have an outline which means it is neither in preview or program...just waiting to be selected.

  4. The last box is a live feed from whatever is coming out of this, the livestream computer.  This allows us to selectively send material from this computer  to the live stream.  Note that this box doesn't have an outline which means it is neither in preview or program...just waiting to be selected.

The last row of boxes contains diagnostic and other information about the live stream when it is running.

So now lets take a look at the Switcher (this with all of the white, red and green buttons. Again, the big green button (#1) labeled PTZ is, if you remember from above is in Preview mode.  The big red button (#2) labeled STILL is in Program mode.  You will see two unlit buttons, (#3) Power Point and (#4), Mac Vid.

We use these buttons to select materials to send to the live stream.  So, right now if I hit the "AUTO" button, the program would fade from the Still camera to the PTZ camera.  If I wanted to go back, simply hit the "AUTO" button again and Program will fade back to the Still camera.  If I wanted to send some Power Point to the live stream, I'd hit the #3 button, it will turn green and appear in the Preview window.  Hitting the "AUTO" button will fade in the PowerPoint from whatever was in program.

So, just to clarify, you select the large button of what you want in preview, then hit "AUTO" to send it to the livestream.

Single click on "STANDBY" and the projector will power on after a few seconds.

  • Open the PowerPoint app and the week's Presentation.  If it is not ready, open last week's presentation just so we can confirm operation!  At the very top of the screen you will see "Slide Show", click on that then, "Play from Start".  The presentation should begin and this section of our setup is complete!
